It will be a funny, fast-paced, kinda crazy night!

Featured Comics:
In 2016, Irene Tu was named one of the “Bay Area’s 11 Best Stand Up Comedians” by the SFist and one of 20 “Women to Watch” by KQED. She has been featured in numerous comedy festivals including SF Sketchfest, Limestone Comedy Festival, and the All Jane Comedy Festival. Irene hosts several popular shows in the Bay Area: Man Haters, Hysteria, The Mission Position, Laugh Function and Millennials Ruin Everything (they do).

Dominique Gelin is a comedian in San Francisco who offers strong opinions on stupid things, -isms, and assholes. It’s all very fascinating. Before moving to the Bay Area, she was a finalist for the Ultimate Miami Comedian and was a part of the Boca Raton Comedy Festival. Dom has also touched the stage of a really famous comedy club that one time.

Jesse Hett has appeared on the front page of the Wall Street Journal doing comedy while wearing a virtual reality helmet. That sounds made up but it’s true, you can look it up. He has performed in SF Sketchfest and the Savage Henry Comedy Festival; is a regular at Rooster T. Feathers, the San Jose Improv, and the San Francisco and Sacramento Punch Lines.

Courtney Vineys is an improviser, actor, writer, illustrator, and instructor who has performed stand-up comedy across Los Angeles and Orange County, voiced Daemona Prune on Kids’ WB’s Phantom Investigators, and appeared on The O’Keefes with Tanya Raymonde and Judge Reinhold. These days, Courtney performs frequently with Pan Theater’s original improv troupe, “Awkward Face,” writes and performs with sketch troupe “The 19th Street Irregulars,” and teaches improv workshops in Oakland and San Francisco.

Featured Improvisers:

Jay Ridler is a writer, historian, and improv actor who has performed in San Francisco and the East Bay Region since 2013, including at the EXIT THEATER, PAN THEATER, and THE UN-SCRIPTED THEATER COMPANY. He has directed such shows as WRESTLEPALOOZA and BART: THE MUSICAL, performed as part of such troupes as LIQUID MIND and SOMETHING, and is a founding member and director of the sketch comedy group THE 19th STREET IRREGULARS. A former punk rock musician and cemetery groundskeeper, Jay lives in Berkeley.

The Empathy Project by Oakland School for the Arts Students

The Empathy Project is centered around the recent tragedy that has struck Oakland and the many lives lost.

As we focused on empathy in our Habits of Mind class, we decided to do what we can and help bring our communities closer together as we grieve.  We are also putting some of our funds that we raise towards one of our OSA alum’s family who was recently illegally evicted from their North Oakland home.

Join us for this lunchtime gathering to hear music and poetry to lift us up and support those affected by the Ghost Ship fire and gentrification. $5 donation suggested. All are welcome.

Willow Steps

Willow Steps combines the folky introspective tunes of singer-songwriter Jesse Strickman (this is Jesse’s Bithday show!!) with the angelic harmonies of vocalist Leiya Mahoney. In less than two years since their formation, the Oakland based NeoFolk duo has performed up and down the West Coast, has interviewed on multiple radio stations, and has been written about twice in the Bay Area’s renowned music website, The Bay Bridged. Their simple songs of love and passion will warm your heart on even the coldest of winter nights.

Dylan Rodrigue writes emotional songs in a similar vein to songwriters such as Elliott Smith and Simon Joyner. A Dylan show is raw, striking, and brutally honest. Not to be missed.

Sie Sie Benhoff balances lyrics of heartbreak and remorse by adding a little comedy and a lot of rock-and-roll.
